This policy describes the way Show Me Your Channel ("we") collects and processes the personal data of its users ("you"), in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection law.
Our principle: we collect the strict minimum necessary for the service to work. We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Tybbow, reachable at: contact@montremoitachaine.fr.
2. Data collected and purposes
We process the following data:
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| E-mail address (optional, when submitting a channel) | To notify you if the submitted channel is published | Consent |
| IP address | Service security and abuse prevention (limiting the number of submissions) | Legitimate interest |
| Technical browsing data (server logs) | Proper functioning and security of the site | Legitimate interest |
We do not use advertising cookies or trackers for profiling purposes.
Data relating to YouTube channels
When a channel is submitted and then published, we store public information from YouTube (channel name, image, description, categories, public statistics). This information concerns channels and not visitors to the site. A creator can request the removal of their channel (see section 7).
3. Retention period
- E-mail address linked to a submission: kept until the submission is processed, then deleted or anonymized.
- IP addresses (anti-abuse): kept for a short period, indicatively 30 days.
- Server logs: 5 years
4. Recipients of the data
Your data is intended for the site's publisher only. It may be hosted by our hosting provider (see the legal notice), which acts as a processor.
The site queries the YouTube (Google) API to verify the existence of the submitted channels. This verification is performed server-side; your personal data (e-mail) is not transmitted to Google in this context.
5. Third-party services
To display the pages, the site loads external resources (for example the styling library and the channels' profile images hosted by YouTube). These services may receive your IP address as a result of the technical connection to their servers.
6. Security
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data (input validation, abuse limitation, restricted access to the database). As no transmission over the Internet is entirely secure, we cannot, however, guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- right of access to your data;
- right of rectification;
- right to erasure ("right to be forgotten");
- right to restriction of and objection to processing;
- right to the portability of your data.
To exercise these rights, or to request the removal of a channel, write to contact@montremoitachaine.fr. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
8. Changes
This policy may be updated. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. We invite you to review it regularly.
