About the channel
The Aalto Factory of the Future is an initiative by the Information Technology in Automation research group, Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Aalto University. The aim of this initiative is to develop a futuristic research and demonstration platform of a new, disruptive manufacturing model of net-centric production. With this research and education initiative we want to contribute to transforming Finland’s (and even Europe as a whole) manufacturing industry into an agile high-tech network of providers of various manufacturing services and integrators of production activities. The platform will utilize state of the art technologies, which include robotics, mobile machines, Artificial intelligence, Distributed computing, Virtual reality, Wireless communications, 3D printing, and smart materials.
