About the channel
The American Center of Research (ACOR) in Amman, Jordan, is a private, nonprofit academic institution dedicated to promoting research and publication in the fields of archaeology, anthropology, history, languages, biblical studies, Arabic, Islamic studies, and other aspects of Middle Eastern studies. Our mission: advancing knowledge of Jordan and the interconnected region, past and present. ACOR’s main program areas include a fellowship program, archaeological excavation and restoration projects, various academic programs, assistance to fieldwork projects in Jordan, and a publication series. ACOR is supported by contributions from foundations, corporations, and individuals and by funds generated by the Amman operation. ACOR is tax exempt as a 501(c)(3) organization, as determined by the United States Internal Revenue Service.
