Hey! My name is Jakob, aka MidnightShowing. Welcome to my channel where I produce video essays on film. The goal of this channel is to provided nuanced, interesting analysis on modern films, while shining a light on indie, international, and underseen pictures. My approach to analysis is to always ground it in conversation with the history of cinema, as well as a critical engagement with the world in which films are produced.
