Welcome to the Arts Medicine for Hope & Healing You Tube Channel. The founder of Arts Medicine for Hope & Healing is Diane Kaufman, MD. She is a poet, lyricist, artist, child psychiatrist, and humanism in medicine awardee. Dr. Kaufman's passion and gift is transforming trauma into creativity. Her story of a sad bird who walks instead of flying because of traumatic experiences, inspired a children's opera composed by Michael Raphael, performed by Trilogy: An Opera Company, and is narrated by the actor, Danny Glover. Dr. Kaufman presents internationally on arts and healing, and was the key note speaker at the National Association for Poetry Therapy Conference in April 2016.
