About the channel
I started tournament chess at the age of 36. Despite a late start, I worked my way to an OTB rating of around 1800 FIDE (150 ECF) through self-study, tactical training, visualization work and a relentless focus on chess fundamentals. This channel documents my continuing journey as an adult improver. I share the books I'm studying, training methods I'm testing, mistakes I'm making and lessons I'm learning along the way. I'm also one of Chessable's most prolific community authors, creating courses on visualization, pattern recognition, tactics and practical improvement for club players. Creator of the Visualise Series and Pattern Recognition training courses on Chessable. If you're an adult player trying to improve while balancing work, family and real life, you're in the right place.
