About the channel
My name is Pat, and I've been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. I'm also a recently retired English teacher, and I loved encouraging my students to be active readers and writers. Books open up new worlds to us, and they teach us about the human condition. Reading, while a solitary act, actually helps us to connect to others. I love to read both contemporary fiction and the classics in British, Irish, and American literature, especially. Additionally, I read a lot of poetry and non-fiction, and I have a great interest in psychology and politics. I also really enjoy reading murder mysteries for fun, and I'm just discovering--late to the party, I know--a deep interest in science fiction.
