About the channel
The health, development, and well-being of many more children, including adolescents, are harmed by exposure to dangerous combinations of climate and environmental shocks. They are uniquely vulnerable to environmental risks because they are in an important developmental stage of growth, have child-specific behaviours, such as crawling, and have little control over their environment. Nearly 92 per cent of pollution-related deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries, with children being the most affected. Children who live in the poorest communities and those affected by conflict are the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and our degrading environment. Join the Children's Environmental Health Collaborative in creating healthy environments, which can prevent more than 1 million deaths in children under the age of 5 each year.
