About the channel

I’m Dave Holt. I create symbolic art on ancient petrified wood and stone. For over five years, I’ve been developing an evolving symbolic system across geological surfaces shaped by intense pressure, fracture, mineralization, and time. The symbols are not planned through theory. They emerge through repetition, intuition, constraint, and sustained engagement with the material itself. Much of this work formed during periods of instability, pressure, rupture, and survival. The art became the structure that contained it. Each object is singular and intended to be lived with rather than instantly consumed. Twice each week, I release the objects themselves without explanation. Once each week, I speak about the conditions surrounding the work as the symbolic system continues to evolve in real time.
