Hi, I’m Juls, a brand designer and design mentor based in Glasgow, with over 30 years in the design world, agency, in-house and freelance. This channel is Designer in Your Pocket, where I help business owners and creatives design their own graphics with confidence. You’ll find weekly tutorials using Adobe Express and Canva, plus practical advice to help you stop overthinking design and actually enjoy it. I also share a weekly series called The Honest Designer Diaries, where I talk openly about life as a designer, the stuff no one really prepares you for, what I’ve learned the hard way, and how your career can evolve over time without burning yourself out. Each diary episode has a written version on Substack if you prefer to read instead. I only take on a small number of branding projects each year, and these days my main focus is teaching, mentoring, and helping people feel more confident creating their own designs.
