About the channel

Eclipse Dataspace Components (EDC) is an Eclipse Foundation Project at Incubation status, initiated in June 2021 (see links for further details). Back then it was initially started as Eclipse Dataspace Connector (see https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-edc/discussions/5). Dataspaces are interoperable exchanges that promote data sovereignty by linking asset sharing and usage policy. The EDC is an open-source project that provides components and services for building dataspaces. It is a comprehensive framework (concept, architecture, code, samples) that dataspace implementations can use and customize for their specific requirements. EDC is designed for developers who want to build dataspace implementations on an existing, standards-based framework. Developers use the EDC to build data-sharing services for their users.
