About the channel

I began this channel with videos on English Language Arts (ELA) Common Core Standards to prepare my students (both mainstream and ELLs) for standardized exams, including state Standards of Learning exams, ACT Work Keys and Workplace Documents, and high school English curriculum for grades 9 and up. While these videos were made for teens and adults, the content covers ELA standards for earlier grades. Each video includes a link to a worksheet that students can use to take notes and answer practice questions, which are checked and explained on the video. Topics include reading, writing, and grammar lessons. I use basic language, as my goal is to deliver the content first, then add more complicated language once the content has been mastered. I've written ELA and ELL-friendly curricula for over 25 educational programs released by publishers, including National Geographic Learning, Harcourt, Pearson, McGraw Hill-MacMillan, and many others.
