About the channel
Welcome to FlamencoMaps. I'm Guillermo Guillén, a professional flamenco guitarist, performer, composer, and educator with over 25 years of experience studying, performing, and teaching flamenco in Spain and around the world. This channel explores flamenco from the inside through videos on compás, rhythm, contratiempos, palmas, cante, guitar, baile, harmony, structure, improvisation, accompaniment, palos, music theory, culture, vocabulary, and performance practice. My goal is not just to show you what to play, but to help you understand why flamenco works the way it does through clear explanations, musical analysis, practical examples, and translations of traditional flamenco lyrics or letras. Whether you're a guitarist, singer, dancer, percussionist, palmero, teacher, student, or simply passionate about flamenco, subscribe and discover new ways to understand, practice, and experience this extraordinary art form.
