Hearing Instrument Manufacturers' Software Association (HIMSA) was founded in 1993 with the objective of developing Noah -- one standard for integrated hearing care software. HIMSA operates much like a consortium -- all suppliers who provide Noah products have a significant say in how the standard evolves. Today, HIMSA has over 100 member companies. Noah software is available in over 20 country versions, and over 35,000 copies have been sold worldwide. Over 70 percent of hearing professionals in the US and Europe are Noah users. In 2002, HIMSA released NOAHlink, an interface for programming hearing instruments. Over 50000 NOAHlink units have been sold.
