The astronomy videos on this channel were made for the high school Astronomy class I teach at the Kinkaid School in Houston, Texas. The class is a semester-long elective for high school seniors who have already had a course in conceptual and algebra-based physics. I based the course on courses for non-science majors in many universities (notably The University of Texas, where I attended graduate school). Because of the limitations of time and the level of the course, I have simplified certain ideas to make them understandable to high school students. The example problems come in part from the textbook we use (The Cosmic Perspective by Bennett et al.).
