About the channel

Welcome to Learn the Sky. I’m Janine Bonham, educator, author of Starry Wonders, and lifelong student of the night sky. This channel is here to help you recognize the stars, constellations, and celestial objects above you, and to understand the science and stories behind them. My journey began under the dark skies of Hawai‘i, where I spent twelve years learning to navigate the stars. Today, I bring that experience into my work as a middle school science teacher, along with my background in environmental biology, geosciences, and science education. My goal is to help you step outside, look up with confidence, and know what you are seeing. When you recognize the sky, you begin to feel connected to something much larger than yourself. Keep looking up.
