Our story begins when the founder and owner of McElhinneys Department Store, John McElhinney as a young entrepreneur decided to bring a new shopping experience to the people of the North West of Ireland. Due to huge demand and popularity, the first McElhinneys Store was founded in 1971 and has been ever-growing and evolving since then! At the heart of our family-owned business in Ballybofey, which employs over 150 people, is our commitment to providing all our customers with genuine and honest customer service.
