About the channel
I transfer VHS and Laserdiscs to digital recordings. Typical transfer paths: VHS: JVC-MV55 to S-Video/RCA Audio to Osprey 260e to ffmpeg (ffv1) LD: Pioneer CLD-D703 to Composite/RCA Audio to Osprey 260e to ffmpeg (ffv1) Videos are de-noised with ffmpeg's built-in nlmeans and deinterlaced with bwdif. They are upscaled to 1080p to obtain better bitrate & frame rate from YouTube. I have cropped some videos to remove head noise in the last few lines. On others I have blanked it out. On many I have left it in (which may be detrimental to video quality due to YouTube's bitrate limits). Always interested in advise, questions, suggestions, and discussion on transfer techniques and places to improve.
