About the channel

I'm a paleontologist and evolutionary biologist studying dinosaurs, mosasaurs, and other extinct creatures. I've described and named over a dozen dinosaurs— Hesperonychus, Albertonykus, Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis, Labocania aguillonae, Ajnabia, Titanoceratops, Mojoceratops. But I'm most interested in studying macroevolution, the broad patterns of evolution. That includes mass extinctions, adaptive radiations, evolutionary trends, complex adapations and the role of rare, extreme events in driving evolution. This channel is where I explore fossils, not just new species but big ideas, what fossils and paleontology tell us about how evolution works, and how science works (or, sometimes, doesn't work). I'm trying to avoid dumbing things down, or burying stuff in layers of jargon, my goal is to use simple language to explore complex concepts, without simplifying.
