About the channel

The Orchestre national de jazz (ONJ) is a registered charity. It is an orchestral ensemble of variable geometry and size - consisting of wind instruments, string instruments and a rhythm section - from a Big Band to a Jazz Studio Orchestra - bringing together conductors and national and international artists of the highest calibre. Since 2013, it has produced 6 albums and over 100 unique concerts, many of which have won or been nominated for the Prix Opus and Adisq galas. Its mission: to commission, present and record new works, and perform pieces drawn from the global repertoire of 20th- and 21st-century jazz music, as well as pop, world and film music, with a particular focus on highlighting the presence of jazz in these other musical genres, thereby raising public awareness of its contribution and importance to musical culture.
