About the channel

Most of the computer simulations on this channel are, and will be, inspired by physics that in many ways are counterintuitive, or what most people would call "weird" (the exceptions are the three simulations with dolphins - they have just been carried out for fun). In many ways such results from a computer simulation would have automatically been classified as "rubbish" if not the equivalent physical experiments actually validate them on the contrary to be true. This I find very fascinating. As lots of experiments with "weird" physics is available on YouTube, there's no problem finding inspiration. Even though the computer simulations, or Finite Element Analyses (FEA), finally show the "unexpected" (i.e. wanted) result, most of them had to be run through several trials due to convergence / numerical issues in trying to capture the dynamics without e.g. element distortions or contact issues being show stoppers. Just love it when theory (i.e. simulation) agrees with reality! :-)

"Birdwatching in Maine is an adventure. There are so many different places to go and birds to see. This is where the sandy beach becomes the rocky coast. It's where the southern hardwood forest transitions into the northern boreal forest."
