About the channel

Hello 👋 Welcome to Sam Shutt Farming, daily life on the Hill farm This is Sam and Oliver plus 6 children farming beef sucklers and sheep in the North Yorkshire/Cumbria border area. We are first-generation farmers, and we've had no help at all to get to where we are now. We are here to show you our life and what we do day in and day out. I am also here to show new entrance that it is possible to start from scratch. Being strong-willed, determined, and a lot of hard work, you can do it. We are both from farming backgrounds. I grew up on a family dairy farm. Milking from a very young age. Working for my uncle when i left school. I've learnt everything from him and grown ever since. I met Oliver when I was 16 he was 15. We started with a few sheep when we met and have built up over the 18 years to we're we are now. We took on a 500-acre hill farm in 2019, currently 7 years into a 10 year tenancy.
