About the channel

We’re no longer in the shipyard — we’re floating now! S/V Alaskan Gypsy, our 80-foot steel, triple-masted schooner, has been back in the water since November 2025 and we’re learning her as we go. The outside work is done and the engines run, but it’s still ongoing sea trials: hydraulics, systems, and the realities of turning an old working boat into our full-time home. This channel is our real Alaskan Gypsy life—restoring, repairing, adventuring, and living self reliant aboard through all four Alaska seasons. We’re lifelong Alaskans who love sharing the honest process: boat work, coastal life, hunting, quiet moments at anchor, the beauty and majestic awe of Alaska, finding work in the small Alaskan coastal communities along the way and the moments of sharing these experiences with others.
