Since 2002, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list has reflected the diversity of the world's culinary landscape, created from the votes of more than 1,120 independent experts. The regional rankings of Latin America’s, Asia’s, Middle East & North Africa’s and North America's 50 Best Restaurants have since followed. The World’s 50 Best Bars runs in a similar guise, created from the votes of more than 800 drinks experts from across the globe. The launch of Asia’s, North America’s and now Europe's 50 Best Bars, followed in 2016, 2022 and 2026 respectively. The brand debuted into the travel sector with the launch of The World’s 50 Best Hotels in 2023. The 50 Best family also includes 50 Best Discovery – a search engine featuring over 3,700 establishments that have received votes from the respective Academies.
