Welcome to my channel, all about the City of San Francisco Hi, I'm Scott, from Midwest USA, but have lived here since 1996. Come along as we walk through the neighborhoods to explore a densely populated city of 835,000 residents, covering just 46.9 sq miles (121.5 sq km). The city, originally named Yerba Buena, was founded on June 29, 1776, when Spanish settlers established the Presidio of San Francisco at Golden Gate and the Mission San Francisco de Asís, both named for St. Francis of Assisi.
