About the channel

GLOST is an artisanal brand born from material obsession and chemical investigation. The name is derived from the transformative qualities of a ‘glost firing’ whereby innocuous materials are assimilated and tested under the process of extreme heat and pressure to produce unique, inspiring and often otherworldly results. It’s founded by Elena Gileva, an artist and ceramics teacher who has been practising and experimenting with glazes for nearly two decades. She came to realise that many of the important manifestations of her practice; unpredictability, graspability, complexity and community are consolidated in the rich world of glaze making.
